BIRTHDAY BOY

I can’t believe I totally forgot to post a blog about how my boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday.I was actually thinking I have already blogged about it! Maybe I was just too preoccupied. Holiday season, my uncle’s death, workload at the office, family gatherings… the list goes on.

Of course the usual sleepover will be there. I get more used to sleeping beside him which is very comforting. It gives me a sense of security and calmness. There were even times when I prefer to sleep beside him than alone in my bed but I have to work that out on my own since we can’t sleep together every night. We’re not yet living together, if that’s what you’re thinking. He sleeps over for like once or twice a week so we can watch movies all night together. Going back to the birthday event, it was on the 21st when he stayed here. I want to be with him on his birthday and be the first person to personally greet him. Hence, the sleepover.

The next day, we went back to their house to just drop by his family for his birthday. We had some brunch with them and then we’re off to our date. We didn’t eat much at their house since we’re planning to enjoy the good food we ought to ingest.

First stop was at Thaidara, a restaurant catering Bangkok street food. Definitely authentic.

They have the best PadThai, I should say.

I tried this crispy cream dory already but I still ordered for it so that he could have a taste of this perfectly cooked fish. Crispy outside but very soft and yummy inside.

And when I asked if they have something new, they offered us this hot wings. Just perfectly spiced.

The restaurant is actually very small. There are seats upstairs as well though. The interior is mostly white probably to make the area look bigger. They have some cute chairs with pillows on it. The place is good for small or big groups. They also offer reservations.

After our lunch, we went back home to my apartment to get some of my things since he’ll drop me at home after our big day so I had to gather all my things. Then we went to Stacy’s for some desserts. Our reservation is at 8pm and we’re actually still full from our late lunch at Thaidara so we opted for dessert.

Stacy’s is actually a very pretty restaurant. The interior looks very nice.

The lighting is perfect. The tables and chairs are perfect for the look they try to achieve.

An event was just held that’s why there aren’t any customers yet. A reservation of the whole restaurant for a child’s first birthday, I think. It’s a good place for such events, I should say.

For dessert of course I tried the red velvet cupcake…

He had the Devil’s Food Cake…

And we ordered for an Apple Pie as well.

I like the red velvet although it’s a bit dry. But it tastes well and good enough. I didn’t try the Devil’s Food Cake since I am avoiding chocolate already due to the migraine attacks I usually have. The Apple pie is a sure winner for me. Definitely delicious.

I found another cool thing about Stacy’s… They have straws which are environment friendly. Paper straws. 🙂

When we asked for the bill, they gave us a free yummy treat.

After visiting these restaurants, not yet commonly known… we were off to his friend’s house to celebrate his birthday with his friends. It was a great day for him. He got to see his family, have a date with his girlfriend (yours truly) and had a bonding session with some old friends he had not seen for a long time already. I’m glad that he’s happy and satisfied that day. ^_^

BIRTHDAY ON ITS WAY

Special requests for my birthday… Well, I got some of the things I want already. This christmas, my parents gave me some moolah I can use to spend on that Samsung Galaxy Tab I want. I may have wanted that S3 but I realized that it won’t be much of any use to me since I want something bigger and I don’t need another phone. I decided to stick with my Blackberry and I don’t even have a choice since I just opened a postpaid account with Globe for this Blackberry mobile. I find it more handy as well since it’s more compact than the touch screen phones in the market. I also got a lot of dresses this Christmas, from family, friends and from myself mostly. (I’ve spent too much on dresses already! And my boyfriend’s been lecturing me about spending too much on clothes for days already.) This December, it’s not my fault if several stores and boutiques are on sale. I am planning on going to Forever 21 later after work, which my boyfriend totally would not appreciate.

I just have something more on my list…

I’ve been requesting this from my sister. I really want this hard suitcase for me. I am not much of a traveler but I just want this because it looks classy.

All the more when we found these items for sale at Dimensione at a reasonable amount which my sister can readily spend for my birthday.

I also wish for this. I’m sure every kid appreciates this and others even have their own collection of Archie comics. I had this on my wishlist for the exchange gift we had last Christmas but I was given another gift which was the book authored by Marites Vitug.

And this one, which is a bit pricy than the 70th anniversary edition of Archie Comics, since this was a hardbound release with two covers, one for Archie’s marriage with Betty and the other Archie’s wedding with Veronica.

And this one… I hope my brother would grant me this one. I need this for my notes, scrapbooks, spur of the moment thing for myself… and all that stuff. I also saw this rubber alphabet stamp for sale at Dimensione. (We just dropped by Dimensione to look at the furniture they sell but I was just looking at the other stuff being sold there.)

And this one, would be from my beloved boyfriend. He said he wanted me to wear something comfy instead of the shoes I wear at work. I would have wanted a pair of Keds but he already gave me a pair on my birthday last January 2012. I just can’t decide what color to get. This is the Sanuk Shorty for women that caught my eye. It doesn’t look big for my very-slim-but-not-sexy ankles.

But then, whatever I get this coming January for my birthday, it would be super! I’m still very much grateful for my family, friends and my super hot and hunky boyfriend who can still make me feel that sense of “kilig” after all these years! I’m excited! I’m turning twenty-something and it’s getting closer to my marrying age. I feel pressured since I still don’t have enough savings for my future. So my goal for next year would be to save, save and save.
